The Sydney Art Store, Botany
I visited this one last month. They stock a large range of colour pencils and paints. Like literally aisles of different paint types and brands. Although they don't stock the Holbein traditional or Arcyla range. They don't let you test the colour pencils before purchasing them, they explicitly have a sign up. There's also a framing business on site too.
Eckersley, Sydney CBD & Taren Point
Theres a few stores around in Sydney. The one in the city Is quite large and stocks a range of printmaking, painting and drawing supplies. I also have a smaller store near me. It's great for picking up consumables like paint brushes, paper, and colour pencils but their range of gouaches is quite limited primarily to the Windsor and Newton brand. I can spend ages in their CBD store browsing and testing out their colour pencils.
Parkers Sydney Fine Arts, The Rocks
This one was really close to my old office when I had a day job in the city. They supply a lot of nice looking equipment and materials. Definitely on the pricier end but worth a visit if you're in the area.
The Art Scene, West Ryde & Paddington
A great range of art supplies. I would frequently visit this store when I was living in the area during my university years, they stocked quite affordable art supplies. From memory they also have framing options on site as well. Toward the end of my degree they ended up opening a shop directly on campus. It was a great place to pick up on ink pens, clay and cheap art journals.
